Ok telephone company! Why do you insist on giving us these
crazy address's?
We purchased a telephone number in early 2008 to use as a call forwarded
line to our main number. The reason for adding this number was to use
it as a "vanity" number 601-362-LOCK for marketing and certain
advertising channels. The telephone company DID NOT attach our business
address at 3003 N. State Street Jackson, MS 39216 to the number, because
call forwarded lines do not usually have a address listed for it according
to our business rep with AT&T.
Since the person who had this number before apparently used it for a home
line, we got saddled with this address I guess last computer update which
seem to have been at the first of the year. I guess either the "computer"
was bored and it decided to attach this old address a YEAR later to a
call forward line, or someone was too busy chatting with their friend
at work and inputted the data. It is popping up in search engines more
and more every day. The 1st time I noticed it (on yahoo I think) I immediately
modified the listing and sent a email to staff to let them know it was
a goof. I contacted the business division of AT&T to try and uncover
how this happened and to put a change to it in their system and send out
a notification so it does not get printed in any phone books.
Well its corrected in the "system" as of March 2, but as I am
finding out more and more search engines are picking this address up and
adding them into their systems. OMG Thank you so very much telephone company
for giving me something to do online for the next few years, I REALLY
appreciate it.

To us it is: 3-5 years of changing search engine listings, and probably
telling callers that we do not have that address and it was a mistake
of the phone company. This day in age with many false advertisers thats
just what I wanted to deal with!

This same dang thing happened to us about 7 years ago with another number,
and we dealt with it for many years afterward (people throw your phone
books out PLEASE and get a current one)
